Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms are the agreement between you and MindCache LTD for buying and watching Software Receta. Please read them before you buy the course.
Who we are
Software Receta is made and sold by MindCache LTD (“MindCache”, “we”, “us”), a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales with company number 16468302. Our registered office is Office 12, Initial Business Centre, Wilson Business Park, Manchester, M40 8WN, United Kingdom.
“You” means the person who watches the course or buys it.
By buying the course, or by watching any of it, you accept these terms and agree that we handle personal data as our Privacy Policy describes.
The course
Software Receta is an online course at receta.academy/software: 24 short, narrated, interactive lessons in five modules. We may add lessons to it.
- Lesson one is free. Anyone can watch it, with no payment and no card.
- Everything else opens with one payment. Every lesson of Software Receta, including the ones we add later, is yours for that one payment.
- Other courses we make or may make, such as Git Receta and Intelligence Receta, are separate products. Buying Software Receta does not include them.
To buy the course you must be at least 18 and able to make a binding contract. One purchase is for one person to watch.
Price and payment
The course is sold at a published founding schedule, in US dollars:
- $19 for the first 100 buyers;
- $29 after that, until the end of 31 December 2026;
- $49 from 1 January 2027.
The price you pay is the one Stripe Checkout shows you before you pay, with any discount code you enter there. It is one payment: there is no subscription, nothing renews, and we never charge you again for this course. A later change in the schedule never changes what you paid.
- Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider. Card details go to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Stripe issues an invoice for your purchase.
- If you pay with a method that takes time to clear, such as a bank debit, the lessons open when the payment arrives.
- If your bank charges you to convert the price from US dollars, or adds its own fees, those are between you and your bank.
Your access
When your payment goes through, the browser you paid in is signed in and every lesson opens. To watch on another device, ask for a sign-in link on the enrolment page with the email you paid with; the link works for 20 minutes. A device stays signed in for up to a year, and each visit renews that.
Your access lasts for as long as we run Software Receta, and it includes every lesson we add to it. We may improve, re-record, reorder or replace lessons; we won’t take away the course you paid for in exchange for a lesser one.
If we ever decide to stop offering Software Receta, we will tell buyers by email at least 30 days before it closes.
Keep your sign-in links to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with a device you have signed in. If you think someone else has your access, tell us at support@receta.academy.
Your licence and acceptable use
When you buy the course, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to watch it and use what it teaches. You may take notes and build anything you like with what you learn.
You must not, or let anyone else:
- share your access, or forward your sign-in links, to let other people watch the paid lessons;
- copy, record, download, re-upload, publish, sell or rent out the lessons, their narration, transcripts, illustrations or interactive parts, except where the law allows it;
- get around the payment, the sign-in or any other way the site controls access, or try to reach other buyers’ data;
- scrape the site, or send traffic meant to overload it;
- use the course to break any law.
If you break these rules we may suspend or end your access, as Suspension and ending access describes.
Refunds
You can have a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason: email support@receta.academy. A full refund closes the paid lessons again. Our Refunds page explains it in full, including your rights under UK and EU consumer law. It forms part of these terms.
Availability and support
We work to keep the course running and correct. But we don’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and we may need to pause it for maintenance. We will try to give notice of planned work.
As far as the law allows, we give no promises or warranties beyond those in these terms. If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights about the course that these terms don’t take away: see Our liability.
Support is by email at support@receta.academy. We answer as soon as we reasonably can.
Intellectual property
- MindCache owns the course: its lessons, narration, scripts, transcripts, illustrations, animations and interactive parts, this website, and the Software Receta name and brand. Buying the course gives you the licence above, not ownership of any of it.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without owing you anything for them.
Other companies’ services
Payments are handled by Stripe, and sign-in links are sent by Resend. Stripe’s own terms also apply to your payment. We are not responsible for other companies’ services, or for websites the course links to.
Suspension and ending access
We may suspend or end your access to the paid lessons, straight away if needed, if:
- you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, including the acceptable use rules;
- your use puts the course, other buyers or us at risk, for example a security threat or an attack;
- your payment is reversed or charged back without good reason; or
- the law, a court or a regulator requires it.
Where the law and the situation allow, we will tell you why, and restore access once the problem is fixed.
You can stop watching at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue after your access ends, such as those on liability and governing law, continue.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded.
If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms affects them. If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or compensate you.
Subject to that:
- we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises;
- we are not liable for losses caused by things beyond our reasonable control, such as a failure of the internet, of a supplier’s systems, or of power;
- our total liability to you, for all claims arising from or relating to these terms or the course, is limited to the amount you paid us for the course.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the course or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
For a change that materially affects buyers, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it must happen sooner for legal or security reasons. A change never takes away the access you have already paid for.
General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refunds page are the whole agreement between you and us about the course.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written agreement. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the course, and we will tell you if we do.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising from them or the course, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country.
